Elixir was delighted to design the save-the-date and invitation for Made in the Shade, Gump’s first-ever benefit for the arts. The event will support a newly endowed scholarship to the California College of the Arts. An array of artists, designers, and celebs have created one-of-a-kind lampshades that models will sport on the catwalk. Fashionable former mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. will emcee.
The save-the-date was an op artifact, a translucent black sleeve with lampshade silhouette, whose pattern changed as the “light” came on and the information card came out. Note for non-locals: The name Made in the Shade is a triple entendre, because Gump’s southern façade is on Maiden Lane.
